生活點滴: 石師父的寮房

Most people are curious of how a Buddhism monk's room would looks like. Here is the answer. The monk's room is usually simple and plain. My room is also clean and neat, and it fills with high tech gadgets. Because of the mass Medias, many people believe that monks should live in the remote mountains or inner forests, and it may difficult to connect with a monk with the modern technologies. Even though Buddhism is an age-old religion (it has exist for more than 3000 years), but it still has to follow up to today’s world. As a monk, I follow the tradition disciplines and also utilize the modern gadgets to share my experience in practicing Buddhism.

Every morning the sunlight wakes me up through the window. I can see the street and my car from my desk. I placed the Bodhidharma's statue and Grand Master's photo on the top shelves of my bookcase.

This is my bed. I put my Kasaya (patch-robe) in the top of headstock; this is convenient way. There is a stuff doll on my headstock. It is a gift from Kenneth who is a member of my Youth Group. He bought it when he went camping. I was really touched. Even though he has not attend the classes often, but he still remember me when he’s on the trip.
